What are the goals and activities of the Design phase?
If the solution is training or learning, the Design phase involves designing that solution, whether it is a classroom-based training program, e-Learning, self-study, on-the-job training or a blend of a variety of learning methods. During this phase we create performance objectives based on the outcomes our clients are aiming to achieve, and then design based on those objectives. The result is a detailed design document which serves as the blueprint for the solution.

 Determining learner characteristics
 Developing learning objectives
 Determining learning methods and activities
 Developing the Detailed Design Document
 Validating and gaining approval for design
 Engaging clients/stakeholders during this phase

Outcomes:

 Validated and approved Detailed Design Document
